St John Rescue Corps rekindled the tradition of lighting a bonfire at Fort Madalena on the eve of the feast of St John the Baptist, patron saint of the Order of St John of Jerusalem. St John’s Bonfires (Huggiega ta’ San Gwann) is a traditional event celebrated around the world on the 23rd of June.
